On September 25, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Natural Resources issued a notice on issuing the second batch of total control indicators for rare earth mining, smelting and separation in 2023.

In 2023, the total control indicators of the second batch of rare earth mining, smelting and separation will be 120,000 tons and 115,000 tons respectively. According to SMM statistics, in the second batch of rare earth mining indicators, 111793 tons of rock and mineral rare earths, a year-on-year increase of 10%, and 8,207 tons of ionic rare earths, a year-on-year increase of 7%. In the first two batches of 2023, the total rare earth mining control index will be 240,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 14.3%. Among them, 220,850 tons of rock-mineral rare earths, a year-on-year increase of 15.7%, and 19,150 tons of ionic rare earths, the same as last year.

In 2023, there will be reserved indicators, and the number of indicators for the whole year will be finalized by taking into account factors such as changes in market demand and the implementation of indicators of each rare earth group.
